Our Story
I started with three vending machines around town, selling cakes from my bakery. But nothing was working. The cupcakes kept falling over, the frosting got ruined, and I was heartbroken. I remember crying, thinking — How am I going to do this? How can I sell cupcakes without them getting destroyed?
I didn’t want to give up. I didn’t want to fill my machines with sodas and snacks when they were meant for my cakes. I went home, laid on my bed, staring at the ceiling, trying to figure it out.
Then, while scrolling on TikTok, I saw a video of a man in Japan selling smoothies in cans — and that’s when it hit me:
What if I made cake in a can?
A beautiful, gourmet cake… sealed, protected, and ready to enjoy.
I was so excited, I ordered all the materials the very next day. But when everything arrived, it was all wrong. I had to rebuy everything — twice. Still, that didn’t stop me.
That’s when I knew I was starting something new — a whole new venture built on creativity, persistence, and a lot of cake.
And that’s how Cake in a Can by Sandy McCord was born.
